enjoying new media • software aesthetics

Tekka takes a close look at serious ideas that intertwingle computing and expression: hypertext, new media, software aesthetics, and the changing world that lies beyond the new economy.

Tekka is always seeking new writers who can enhance our understanding, tempt our palate, and help explore new worlds and advance the state of the art.

We welcome proposals for incisive, original features, reviews, and profiles from freelance writers. Our rates vary by length, department, and editorial requirements, but are generally in line with the best Web magazines.

We welcome proposals from scholars as well. Graduate students are especially encouraged; much of the best work in this field is the work of young scholars. Tekka's standards of scholarship and of writing equal or surpass the requirements of the best Web journals published today.

We also publish short hypertext fiction and related work that exploits the potential of electronic media. We seldom consider fiction that could readily appear in print. We are probably the best market for Web fiction, but we are extremely selective.

Kindly direct queries to Dr. Anja Rau at editor@tekka.net.
